Custom Tensile and Shade Canopies for Modern Spaces
We design and install high-tension shade structures that combine architectural form with heavy-duty weather protection. From resort cafes to shopping mall entrances, our canopies are engineered to handle high winds and harsh sunlight while keeping your outdoor spaces cool and visually sharp.
This video highlights the design and installation of a dramatic tensile fabric canopy for the entrance of a major shopping mall. The structure provides shelter and creates a memorable architectural landmark.

About Custom Tensile & Shade Canopies
A tensile canopy is only as good as its tension. We use high-frequency welding for the seams and marine-grade stainless steel cables to ensure your structure stays taut and leak-proof year after year. We start with a form-finding analysis to predict how the fabric reacts to your specific site's wind loads, so you aren't just buying shade, you are buying long-term structural stability.
Engineering Your Shade Structure
When we take on a tensile project, we approach it as a structural challenge rather than just a cover installation. A canopy needs to manage thermal expansion, wind loads, and drainage simultaneously. Our structures are built using PVC-coated polyester fabric, typically ranging from 550 GSM to 750 GSM, which we source for its UV resistance and flame-retardant properties.
Why Our Design Process Matters
- Form-Finding Analysis: We use computer-aided modeling to determine the exact shape and tension required for your space. This prevents ponding and ensures the fabric doesn't sag or flutter in high winds.
- Marine-Grade Hardware: We utilize stainless steel (SS 304/316) cables and turnbuckles. These are essential for maintaining the tension required to keep the fabric taut, especially in coastal or high-wind environments.
- High-Frequency (HF) Welding: Unlike stitched seams that can tear or leak, our seams are HF welded. This fuses the material into a single, waterproof unit that is as strong as the fabric itself.
Applications
- Commercial Plazas: We design bold entrance canopies that serve as architectural landmarks.
- Resort & Cafe Seating: We create expansive, airy shade systems that protect customers while maintaining an open, modern aesthetic.
- Industrial & Public Spaces: Our heavy-duty systems are built for durability, ensuring low maintenance over years of continuous outdoor use.
Whether you need a curved tensile roof for a garden or a massive shade structure for a commercial parking lot, we handle the steelwork, the fabrication, and the on-site installation to ensure the finish is flawless.
Neoqube
We treat building like a game of grown-up Lego, focusing on the joints, cables, and tension that make a structure stand tall. We aren't interested in just putting up a cover; we obsess over the math and the finish of every canopy we build. If it doesn't look sharp and function perfectly, we aren't satisfied.
