A look at my journey from court to coaching—where discipline meets passion for the game.
Even at 43, the thrill of the game keeps me flying. This is the kind of energy and commitment I bring to every single match and coaching session.
I don't just teach volleyball; I build champions. Here is one of my proudest moments, celebrating with the All India Agri University Championship winners, a team I had the honor of coaching to victory.
The foundation of a great player is mastering the basics. In this clip, I am breaking down the three-step attack approach for beginners, ensuring every player builds their skills on a solid technical base.
My coaching methods are backed by certified expertise. I am proud to have earned an 'A' Grade in the Volleyball Coaching Course from the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Netaji Subhas Southern Centre.
Coaching the next generation is my passion. This is a group photo from one of my volleyball summer camps, where I focus on making the sport fun while instilling discipline and fundamental skills in young players.
Leading the Bangalore City Police (BCP) team to victory in the Karnataka State Police (KSP) Meet was a testament to our team's hard work and discipline. I have extensive experience coaching corporate and institutional teams to success.
As a player-coach, I lead by example. Here I am executing a frontline shot during a competitive match, showing that the skills I teach are the same ones I use on the court.
About this collection
Frank-aag helbeku andre (to be honest), I scold more than I teach. This isn't just about showing up; it's about discipline. In my sessions at Kittur Rani Chennamma Stadium, we drill the basics until they become muscle memory, whether you're a beginner learning to set or an athlete prepping for state trials. If you are ready for some real josh and hard work, let’s get on the court.
My coaching philosophy is simple: discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment. As an active player who has competed for the Karnataka State Police and still plays at 43, I don't just instruct from the sidelines. I bring the same intensity to training that I bring to match-day.
Why train with me?
- Technical Foundations: I am SAI NIS certified, meaning I teach the correct biomechanics for attacking, blocking, and setting. We don't skip steps.
- Real-World Experience: I actively compete in tournaments across Karnataka. I know what selectors look for, and I prepare my students with tactical game intelligence, not just drill repetitions.
- Customized Intensity: Whether you are joining my youth summer camps or our elite competitive batches, the training is high-energy. We focus heavily on agility, vertical jump mechanics for attackers, and defensive positioning for liberos.
What to expect
When you join my sessions, expect a demanding environment. We train on outdoor clay and soil courts, which build better footwork and resilience compared to indoor synthetics. We focus on conditioning—stadium stair runs, agility ladders, and interval sprints are non-negotiable.
My batches are mixed-level, but I ensure personal attention to individual form. If you are a beginner, we start with ball handling and service basics. If you are playing for a university or club, we move to rotation management, offensive systems, and mental toughness. This is where you learn to fail, learn, and try again until you play better.
Naveen Kumar Shetty
I'm Naveen, or Naveen anna to my players. I’m 43, still playing competitively, and fully hands-on with my coaching. If you're looking for a soft-touch coach, I might not be the one—I believe in grit, discipline, and the kind of hard work that builds champions.
