The Power of Early Childhood Music

I believe that music and movement are the keys to a child's early development. Here is a look at my journey in advocating for play-based music education and why it makes such a difference for our little ones.

Speaking about the effects of music and movement in the early years is a topic very close to my heart. I am so grateful to the Reliance Foundation for giving me this platform to share my passion.

About Spreading the Joy of Music

Sharing my thoughts at the 'Building Flourishing Futures' conference was a highlight for me. It wasn't about presenting a lecture, but about showing parents and educators how simple, play-based music sessions in our communities can help children build confidence, social skills, and a lifelong, beautiful love for learning.

Why Music Matters

It is easy to think of music classes as just singing songs, but the impact goes so much deeper. When children move to a rhythm, hold a shaker, or simply listen, they are building neural pathways that support their cognitive and physical growth. My advocacy is rooted in the simple truth that when you remove the pressure to perform, children naturally open up.

How We Make it Work

I focus on the process, not the product. In our sessions, children are free to explore instruments at their own pace. If a child wants to drum on the floor instead of following the beat, that is perfect. This approach allows children to:

  • Build Confidence: They learn that their contributions are valued.
  • Improve Coordination: Movement with props like parachutes and scarves develops motor skills.
  • Foster Connection: Families sing and play together, strengthening the bond between child and caregiver.

Bringing Music to Your Community

Whether it is a school workshop or a community event in Juhu, Worli, or Thane, I bring the entire experience to you. Every session includes:

  • Quality Instruments: Remo gathering drums, egg shakers, and rhythm sticks.
  • Movement Props: Colorful scarves and large parachutes for group engagement.
  • Certified Guidance: Developmentally appropriate activities based on the Music Together curriculum.

I love seeing children blossom through these interactions. If you are an educator or a parent looking to bring this energy to your school or local group, I would love to connect.
