Exploring Instruments and Rhythm
In our music sessions, your child gets hands-on time with drums, shakers, and xylophones. We believe playing is learning, and every child deserves the freedom to find their own beat.
There is no such thing as too many drums. I encourage children to explore instruments freely, and this little one is discovering the joy of creating a big sound all by himself.
I absolutely love seeing how children use their imagination. Here, a simple shaker becomes a microphone for a budding performer. It’s all about creative expression and building confidence.
The intense focus on this little one's face shows how engaging instrument play can be. He is working on his fine motor skills and learning about cause and effect while exploring the sounds of the instrument.
From the xylophone on the floor to the shakers in hand, our free play time allows each child to gravitate towards the instruments they love. This freedom is key to fostering a genuine love for music.
Two friends sharing a drum and creating a rhythm together. These moments of spontaneous collaboration are so important for developing social skills and learning to communicate through music.
We use rhythm sticks to learn about steady beats, both big and small. It’s a simple yet effective way to introduce musical concepts in a playful manner that even the youngest children can enjoy with their parents.
The excitement is visible as these children dive into our box of instruments. Giving them the chance to choose their favorite instrument for the day empowers them and makes the experience personal and fun.
Look at this pro. With a drum and a stick, he is completely in his element, feeling the rhythm. It’s amazing to see how naturally children take to making music.
How many rhythm sticks are too many? In our class, the answer is, you can never have too many. It’s all about abundance, exploration, and the simple joy of holding a beat.
During our free play segment, the room fills with the sounds of children exploring different instruments. Some play solo, while others jam together, creating a beautiful, spontaneous symphony.
About Exploring Instruments & Rhythm
We do not worry about performance or perfect technique here. If your toddler wants to pick up every shaker in the bin or just watch from your lap, that is perfectly okay. My philosophy is that when children feel free to explore our instruments at their own pace, they develop genuine confidence rather than just learning to follow instructions.
My goal is simple: to create a space where music feels natural, not like a formal lesson. When we open the instrument box, it is a moment of pure magic. Children gravitate toward what calls to them, whether it is the steady thrum of a Remo gathering drum or the light sound of egg shakers. This self-directed play is core to the Music Together curriculum we follow.
Why Free Play Matters
We do not push kids to play a specific song on cue. Instead, we introduce the rhythm, and I watch as they find their own way to engage. Some children sit quietly and tap gently on a xylophone to understand the sound, while others want to march around with rhythm sticks. By allowing this freedom, we see shy children blossom and gain the confidence to participate in the group naturally.
Instruments We Explore
Our sessions are packed with variety to keep little hands busy and curious. We use Remo gathering drums for big beats, egg shakers for rhythm, and colorful xylophones for melody. We even use tactile props like chiffon scarves to help children visualize the movement of sound.
Where We Bring the Music
I bring this entire musical world directly to you. Whether you are looking for a special workshop in Juhu, a community event in Worli, or school integration programs across Thane and the rest of the Mumbai Metropolitan Area, I come fully equipped. All you need to do is show up, be ready to sit on the floor, and get ready to sing.
