MMA Hand Wrapping Techniques and Boxing Safety in Delhi
Protecting your hands is the first rule of combat sports. I show you exactly how to wrap your wrists and knuckles to ensure you train safely and hit with confidence.
Learning to wrap your hands is the first step for any beginner. I'll show you how to properly support your wrist and knuckles to prevent injury and punch with confidence.
For more experienced fighters, here is another variation for wrapping your hands. This method provides extra padding over the knuckles for heavy bag work and sparring.
About Master the Craft: Technique Breakdowns
Getting your hand wraps wrong is the fastest way to sideline yourself with a wrist injury. At my gym, we don't just throw on wraps; we teach you the specific tension needed to stabilize your wrist while keeping your knuckles cushioned for heavy bag work. Whether you are prepping for your first sparring session or just conditioning, a solid wrap is your primary defensive tool.
Why Proper Wrapping Matters
In the ring, your hands are your most valuable tools. Skipping the wrap or doing it poorly leads to wrist sprains, knuckle bruising, and long-term joint issues. At Sanshinkan MMA FitZone in Vikaspuri and Rohini, we make sure every student, from complete beginners to competitive fighters, understands the anatomy of a good wrap.
The Two Methods We Use
We teach two distinct styles based on your training goals:
- The Foundation Wrap: This is our go-to for daily conditioning. It focuses on the 'Figure 8' method to lock the wrist, ensuring the joint doesn't collapse on impact. It is quick, secure, and provides enough support for heavy bag work without feeling bulky.
- The Fighter’s Padding: When you are ready for sparring or high-intensity bag drills, we add an extra layer of protection. This method involves folding the wrap to create a pad over the knuckles, diffusing the force of impact so you can hit harder for longer without injury.
More Than Just Fitness
We don't use fancy machines here. When you train with us, you are using the same equipment our competition fighters use: heavy vinyl bags, battle ropes, and tyre flips. Because we train barefoot on high-density foam mats, we focus heavily on footwork and balance alongside your striking.
We keep our classes small enough that I can personally check your wrap and your technique. If you are in Delhi and looking for a place that focuses on real combat skills rather than just cardio, come by for a session. We will get you wrapped up and ready to work.
