About Editorial & Magazine Features
My editorial work relies on constant communication with the creative director and styling team from day one. Before we even step on set, we finalize mood boards and reference shots to ensure the lighting and posing match the specific aesthetic of the publication, whether it's a high-fashion spread for ELLE or an impactful cover for Filmfare.
Editorial photography is more than just a camera and a subject; it is a collaborative production. My process for magazine features starts with understanding the narrative the publication wants to tell. For features in GQ or GlobalSpa, this means balancing the specific brand requirements with the talent’s personal style.
Every editorial shoot is a team effort. I coordinate with stylists, makeup artists, and art directors to define the mood, be it dramatic lighting, cinematic silhouettes, or clean, high-fashion portraiture. By treating each session as a production, we ensure that every frame serves the final layout, from double-page spreads to cover visuals.
My workflow includes pre-shoot consultation to align on lighting concepts and posing direction. Post-production is equally rigorous, focusing on color grading that aligns with brand pantones and skin texture preservation that maintains the authenticity of the subject. Whether we are shooting on location at a luxury venue or utilizing controlled studio lighting, the goal is always a final image that holds its own on a newsstand.
