Rescuing a dog is just the beginning of the journey. I help families navigate the unique path of bringing a rescue into their lives, turning initial uncertainty into a lifelong bond.

The "box puppies" have all found homes! This is Yolo, now named Zhandu, with his new mom, Jacqueline Fernandez. It brings me so much joy to see these rescued pups thriving in their new families.

This is Chowkidar, another one of the rescued box puppies, now named Crank, with his wonderful new family, Anupama Chopra and Vinod Chopra. Seeing these happy endings makes all the hard work worth it.

A happy family portrait with their new Labrador puppy after a successful training session. My team and I love being part of a family's journey with their new dog.

After 12 years, my students start to get older. This is me with Jedi, a gorgeous German Shepherd I trained as a puppy. His family asked me to visit him a few days before he passed, and I'm so grateful for these lifelong bonds.

A throwback to Jedi's younger days, showing off his impressive 'leave it' skills. He was such a smart and well-behaved boy.

Jedi giving me kisses. The relationships I build with my clients and their dogs are truly special and are an integral part of my life.

This is baby Jedi when I first started training him 11 years ago. It's a privilege to watch them grow from little puppies into beloved family members.

About Adoption & Rescue Stories

Most rescues deal with an intense 'decompression' phase where they need to learn that your home is a safe space, not a threat. I help you set up the right structure and boundaries immediately so your new rescue doesn't develop anxiety or resource guarding habits during those critical first few weeks.

Bringing a rescue dog home is a massive life change for both you and the dog. Whether it is a stray you have picked off the street or a pup from a shelter, the transition is rarely instant. I have spent 14 years working with dogs like the 'box puppies'—my own rescue journey—helping them go from street-smart survivors to confident family members.

The Decompression Reality

Many people think a rescue just needs love. While love is the foundation, a rescue needs boundaries to feel safe. When a dog comes from a background of uncertainty, the world can feel overwhelming. I work with you to create a routine that lowers their stress levels—what we call 'threshold management.' This includes structured 'do nothing' periods and clear communication using marker words so the dog knows exactly what is expected of them.

Why Professional Guidance Matters

I don't believe in generic advice because every dog is different. Some rescues struggle with leash reactivity, others with separation anxiety or food guarding. In my 90-minute diagnostic consultations, we look at the root cause. Are they acting out because of genetics, or is it a learned behaviour from their time on the streets? Understanding this helps us build a customized training roadmap, whether that involves intensive residential rehabilitation at my Chandivali facility or a home-led training plan.

Building a Lifelong Bond

Training is about building a relationship, not just teaching commands. I have seen dogs I trained as puppies grow into elderly companions, and the bonds I form with my clients are the most fulfilling part of my work. If you are ready to put in the time to understand your rescue's psychology, I am here to guide you through the process of becoming their leader and their anchor.
