Inside Mitali's Board & Train: Real-world Dog Rehabilitation
I started MBT to create a space where dogs get actual transformation, not just temporary obedience. Here is a look at my facility, my team, and how we change lives.

It's not all work! Having fun and building positive associations is a huge part of our training, like enjoying this ball pit at our camp.
This is a fun nose work game I play with Pretzel, a Beagle mix. By scattering his kibble in a dark room, I'm forcing him to use his powerful sense of smell to find his food, which is fantastic mental stimulation.
Should you take your young puppy to a dog park? I generally advise against it until vaccinations are complete. Instead, I use open spaces for one-on-one bonding and training with the puppy, away from other dogs.
About About Mitali's Board & Train (MBT)
When you bring your dog to our facility in Chandivali, we are not just 'watching' them. We are running a strict, personalized rehabilitation schedule—from nose-work games that drain mental energy to structured socialisation sessions—because we know that a bored dog is almost always a reactive dog. We treat every stay like a boot camp for better behaviour, not a kennel.
My facility in Powai is where the 'real' work happens. I started this because I saw too many trainers using cookie-cutter methods that failed the moment the dog went home. At MBT, we do things differently.
Why our approach works
We operate on the belief that a dog's environment dictates its behaviour. Our air-conditioned, rubber-floored facility in Chandivali is designed to remove the daily triggers that cause your dog stress—like construction noise, random visitors, or household chaos—so we can build a clean slate.
The Team & The Process
I don't work alone. I’ve built a predominantly women-led team that shares my philosophy: training is a partnership, not a punishment. Whether we are helping a puppy navigate the scary traffic of Mumbai or working on intensive aggression rehabilitation for an older dog, we focus on psychology over tricks.
We don't believe in 'quick fixes.' If your dog has severe anxiety or leash reactivity, we will likely recommend a longer residency. This gives us the time to use safety protocols like muzzles and double-leashing while slowly desensitizing your dog to the things that make them lunge or bark.
The Owner's Role
The most important part of my job actually happens after the training is done. When you come to pick up your dog, we have a mandatory handover session. I will show you exactly how to change your body language and home routine so you don't undo the work we've done. You become the leader, the anchor, and the translator for your dog. My team and I are just here to help you get there.
