Behind the Brush: How We Create Custom Wall Murals

Art is not just about the final coat of paint; it is about the journey. Here is a look at the creative, messy, and rewarding process that happens before your wall is transformed.

A compilation of moments from different projects, showing the journey of an artist. From ladders to beaches, inspiration and hard work are everywhere.

Reel vs. Reality. The final artwork looks effortless, but the reality involves shaky ladders, long hours, and a whole lot of focus to get the job done.

A montage of satisfying brushstrokes from various projects. Each line and color application is a deliberate step in bringing a vision to life on the wall.

Taking a moment to rest and reflect beside a colorful, abstract mural. Every canvas is a journey, and we pour our emotions and stories into each one.

About this collection

Every mural project involves more than just paint. Before I pick up a brush, we handle the wall preparation, create digital mockups to align on your vision, and plan for the specific surface—whether it is brick, wood, or a smooth interior wall. It is a process that involves plenty of jugad to navigate constraints like tight corners or quick deadlines, but that is exactly where the magic happens.

The Journey from Blank Wall to Mural

When you invite us into your home or studio, you are not just hiring a painter; you are inviting a storyteller. My process is defined by 'beautiful chaos'—the messy, hands-on work that turns an empty wall into something that speaks to you.

1. Consultation & Design

We start by understanding your space. Whether you are looking for a Kalamkari-inspired feature or a bold modern abstract, I work with you to sketch a design that fits the room’s unique architecture. You get to see the vision before we start, with 2 rounds of digital mockups or pencil sketches superimposed on your wall photos.

2. Surface & Execution

This is where the jugad comes in. Bangalore traffic might be unpredictable, but our technique is not. We use artist-grade acrylics and high-pigment emulsions that are built to last. For standard walls, we focus on freehand brushwork and clean lines. If you choose our 3D textured murals, the process takes longer—often 5 to 10 days—to allow for the sculpting and curing of heavy-body texture gels and metallic foils.

3. The Finish

We do not just leave you with paint on the wall. We ensure the area is protected with high-quality varnishes, especially for high-traffic zones or exterior-facing walls. We also handle the small stuff—sanding, patching minor nail holes, and cleaning up the residue before we head out. My goal is to make your home feel like a poem, ensuring that the final piece brings that sense of calm and therapy I find in my own work.

Hi, I am Pratiksha. I believe every wall is a blank page waiting for a story, and I am usually happiest with a brush in my hand, covered in paint. My team and I love the messy, hands-on process as much as the finished art, and we are always ready to tackle a new surface—whether it is a quiet home nook or a busy cafe wall.
