About The Mehtab Ali Niazi Experience: Full Band Fusion
When you bring this 6-piece ensemble to your venue, know that this is a concert-style setup, not background filler. Because I mix sitar with drums, electric guitar, and violin, we need a proper stage of at least 16x12 feet and a professional PA system to balance the acoustics. This setup is designed to be the main event, so it works best when your guests are ready to listen and engage.
My full band fusion act is where tradition shakes hands with modern innovation. I founded 'The Mehtab Ali Niazi Experience' to break the boundaries of where the sitar belongs. You will hear me navigate the complex structures of traditional ragas like Bhimpalasi, but you will also hear us drop into the driving beats of contemporary rock and pop hits.
This is not a solo performance. I travel with a full ensemble—tabla, western drums, keyboard, lead guitar, and violin. Together, we create a soundscape that moves from soft, soulful ghazal-inspired jazz to high-tempo fusion that gets the room moving. We have performed this set at iconic venues like The Piano Man Jazz Club, where the blend of technical precision and raw energy is key.
