Coaching for Ultra Marathons and Hill Runs

Hills don't just build leg strength; they build the kind of mental grit that carries you through the toughest miles. Let's get you race-ready.

Distance teaches endurance, but hills teach grit. A powerful stride during a hill training session, building the strength needed to conquer any incline.

Running through the night during the Tata Ultra Marathon. If you are meant to run through hell, you snatch the fire and light your own torch. This is the ultra mentality.

Focused and determined on a dark road during an ultra marathon. My coaching prepares you for the mental and physical challenges of running for hours on end.

Navigating a dark, tree-lined path with a headlamp during an ultra. This is where mental toughness and race strategy become just as important as physical fitness.

Finishing a 50.88km Tata Ultra Marathon. I crushed this race with low mileage and zero hill training, proving that a determined heart can overcome any challenge.

Conquering my fear of hills at the Lonavala Tata Ultra Marathon. A 50km race with a 4th place finish, proving that we can overcome any obstacle we set our minds to.

About this collection

When I prep you for an ultra or a hilly course, we don't just log miles. We focus on the 'burn' phase—teaching your body how to manage lactate thresholds on inclines and how to fuel when your stomach says no. It is not about looking good on the road; it is about having a clear strategy for the last 10km when every muscle is screaming for you to stop.

Running an ultra isn't a linear progression. Whether you are aiming for the Tata Ultra Marathon or preparing for a technical trail race, the challenge is as much cognitive as it is physical.

The Reality of Hill Training

Most runners treat hills as an afterthought. We do the opposite. I use specific drill work and interval training to normalize the incline. When you train on steep gradients, we work on your stride frequency and posture, ensuring you aren't wasting energy fighting the slope.

Mental Resilience vs. Physical Prep

In my own races, like at Lonavala, I have learned that the finish line is often reached after the brain decides to quit. My coaching goes beyond the PDF workout plan. We look at:

  • Fueling Strategy: What to eat when you are hours in and your appetite is gone.
  • Gear Checks: Identifying shoe stability needs based on your gait and the terrain type.
  • The 'Dark' Phase: Preparing for the psychological dip that happens in the middle of long-distance events.

I treat you like a serious athlete, not a hobbyist. If you are ready to stop guessing and start training with data-backed pacing, strength drills, and recovery protocols, we will get it done.
