Online Clinical Yoga Therapy: Safe and Precise
I teach yoga entirely online without props or physical adjustments. By using precise verbal cues, I help you understand your body mechanics to build strength and heal naturally, regardless of your location.
Small adjustments in technique make a big difference. Here, my student Kelly learns to flip her grip in Rajakapotasana during an online session. I guided her with only verbal cues, empowering her to understand her own body's capacity.
You do not need straps or a teacher pulling you to learn Natarajasana. My students learn this pose online by building foundational strength and balance. This is proof that with the right guidance, you can achieve your goals independently.
Patience, or 'shraddha' (faith), is essential. I do not teach advanced techniques on day one. These students learned the 'flip the grip' only after patiently building their foundation, understanding backbends, and refining their breathing over time.
There is a big difference between performing an asana and teaching it. I can do Vishwamitrasana, but more importantly, I can break it down and teach my students how to achieve it safely and effectively online, correcting their technique for real progress.
Here is an intermediate student's journey with the pike press headstand. After receiving my tips online, she was able to achieve the pose, feeling 'super light'. This is the result of precise drills, not hands-on force or wall support.
Through online guidance, my student discovered her natural ability for twisting poses like Vakrasana. My role is to help you find your strengths and deepen your practice, leading to benefits like spinal mobility and a sense of emotional release.
Hands-on adjustment has been normalized, but it is often unnecessary and can be risky. My students learn poses like Chakrasana (Wheel Pose) by understanding the engagement and awareness required, allowing them to experience the asana for themselves.
About this collection
I do not use hands-on adjustments or bulky props in my sessions. Instead, I rely on precise verbal cues to guide your alignment, which forces you to develop actual proprioception. You learn to feel the pose for yourself, which is the only way to build lasting, injury-free strength without depending on a teacher to force you into a shape.
Many people ask me how I can teach yoga effectively online without touching the student. The truth is that hands-on adjustment is often an overused crutch. If a student relies on a teacher to pull or push them into a posture, they never learn the muscular engagement required to get there safely on their own.
My method is different. Whether you are dealing with a herniated disc, chronic pain, or simply trying to improve your movement patterns, we start by understanding your baseline. In my diagnostic assessments, we review your MRIs, X-rays, and movement history to audit your biomechanics.
Once we start sessions, we use standard household items like walls or chairs if needed, but the primary tool is verbal instruction. I give you cues to activate specific muscle groups or adjust your spinal alignment. This requires patience and shraddha, as it is a slower, more deliberate process than what you find in commercial group classes.
This approach is effective for:
- Injury Rehabilitation: Targeted protocols for those recovering from acute injury who need safe guidance.
- Chronic Pain Management: Using functional movement to alleviate discomfort from sedentary habits.
- Technique Refinement: Correcting your asana practice so you can perform complex poses without risking damage to your joints.
My goal is to make you self-reliant. I want you to understand your own body well enough that you don't need a teacher hovering over you. If you are looking for a quick fix or an aesthetic transformation, you will not find it here. If you are looking to fix your alignment and build internal health, barutte, barutte—it will come.
