Editorial and Magazine Makeup Artist in Mumbai
Editorial makeup is about storytelling. Whether it is a minimal look for a magazine spread or a bold high-fashion concept, I focus on creating skin that translates perfectly for both print and digital media.

About As Seen In: Editorial & Magazine Features
For editorial shoots, such as my feature in ELLE India, the goal is often 'clean' rather than 'heavy glam.' The real challenge is understanding the lighting. I coordinate directly with the photographer and art director to ensure the skin texture holds up against high-intensity strobes, making sure the look stays fresh and defined on camera.
Editorial makeup requires a different mindset compared to event or bridal work. On set, I do not just consider the model's features, but also the color palette of the clothing, the lighting setup, and the final publication's aesthetic.
My Editorial Approach
- Skin Prep for Print: 'Glass skin' is a standard request for print, but it must be practical. I use high-end HD bases that look like real skin, not heavy product. The texture has to be flawless even under macro lenses.
- Collaboration: In my work for ELLE India, success came from working closely with the stylists and photographers. It is a conversation. If the stylist wants a relaxed, denim-focused vibe, the makeup must be understated and honest to match that mood.
- Strobe-Resistant Techniques: Even for print, studio lighting is intense. I use layering techniques that are resistant to washing out. This ensures that features like cheekbones and the jawline remain sharp and defined even when hit by bright, white studio lights.
- Versatility in Mediums: Whether we are shooting a classic black-and-white portrait or a vibrant color spread, I focus on how pigments read on film. It is less about 'covering' and more about 'enhancing' the natural architecture of the face so the subject shines.
