Runway makeup requires specific techniques to withstand endurance and consistency under harsh, high-intensity stage lighting. I prioritize sweat-proof, transfer-resistant base techniques that ensure the model's look remains perfect from the first walk to the final photograph. My focus is on creating a balanced aesthetic that complements the designer's vision without overpowering the garment's intricate details.
High-fashion makeup demands a different level of rigor compared to everyday beauty services. Whether I am heading a team for a bridal couture show or working solo on an editorial print shoot, the objective is to create a look that is technically sound and visually cohesive.
The Technical Edge
Runway shows often feature high-intensity lighting that can wash out features or expose imperfections. I specialize in strobe-resistant layering using HD and 4K-friendly products from brands like NARS and Dior. This ensures that skin texture remains natural and glowing while providing the coverage necessary for high-resolution photography and video.
Collaborative Production
On large sets like the Dior Fall 2023 show or Manish Malhotra’s bridal presentations, I do not just apply makeup. I manage continuity. This involves working closely with the show director and DOP to ensure hair and makeup align with the lighting color grades and the overall creative direction. My role is to bridge the gap between the artistic vision and the practical requirements of the set.

For larger productions, I bring in senior hair stylists and assistants to handle logistics. We cover everything from male grooming—focusing on anti-shine and skin evening—to complex, avant-garde applications like face gems or bold pigments for editorial spreads.
