Authentic Turkish Coffee Brewing at Maffei Kitchen

When we were invited to share our passion with Rocky and Mayur for History TV, the goal was simple: show that coffee is more than just a quick drink. It is a slow, methodical ritual. Authentic Turkish coffee requires a specific grind that works differently than standard drip or espresso methods. Because we use a flour-fine grind, the particles stay suspended in the water, giving the coffee its signature body.

The Brewing Ritual

Brewing at home is straightforward if you have the right equipment. You will need a Cezve, or Ibrik, and our 100% Arabica medium roast.

1. Combine the coffee and cold water in the pot.
2. Heat it slowly. Do not let it boil over.
3. Wait for the foam to rise to the top, then remove from heat.
4. Pour carefully to keep that foam intact.

We provide our coffee in resealable 250g pouches to lock in that freshness. Since the grind is so fine, the beans oxidize faster than whole beans, so we recommend finishing your pouch within 30 days of opening for the best result.

You can pick up our signature coffee blends or our freshly baked artisan baklava at our Maffei Kitchen locations in Vasanth Nagar and Koramangala. We also handle deliveries across Bengaluru for those who want to recreate the cafe experience in their own kitchen.
