This hand-painted ceramic bowl is a piece of art for your table. I shape each one by hand and then paint the vibrant pomegranate motif, making every bowl a unique celebration of color and tradition.

My Bloom & Brew teapot is designed to turn your tea time into a special ritual. The bold, hand-painted indigo florals on the creamy ceramic base bring a touch of elegance to your daily routine.
The Pink Sienna mug showcases a beautiful contrast I love to play with. A glossy, rosy pink glaze meets a rustic, earthy finish, with delicate flowers I carve by hand to reveal the clay beneath.
The festive season is my favorite time to create. Here is a glimpse of my handmade Christmas collection, featuring whimsical gnomes and candle holders that bring a warm, handcrafted glow to your home.
In preparation for Ganesh Chaturthi, I sculpt these Ganesha idols from natural, eco-friendly clay. Each one is shaped with devotion, complete with a tiny mouse companion, ready to bring blessings to your home.
Here I am at a local market, surrounded by my creations. Meeting you in person and sharing the stories behind each piece is one of the most rewarding parts of my journey with Maati Sona.
About Featured
Before you settle on a piece, please keep in mind that I work in small batches, which means no two items are identical. I intentionally leave slight variations in glaze and form, as this is the wabi-sabi charm that makes your mug or bowl one-of-a-kind.
My studio, Maati Sona, isn't about perfectly uniform, factory-made items. It is about the 'Maati Sona' philosophy, which means treating humble clay like gold. Whether I am hand-carving textures into a mug using Sgraffito or painting botanical motifs like the pomegranate, my focus is on function meeting art.
Most of my tableware is lead-free, microwave-safe, and dishwasher-safe. I use stoneware fired at high temperatures above 1200°C to ensure your piece is durable enough for daily chai or coffee.
If you do not see exactly what you need in this collection, I also take custom orders for functional home ceramics. Or, if you are local to Bengaluru, come visit the studio in HSR Layout to try your hand at the wheel, as it is a truly therapeutic way to spend an afternoon.

Hi, I am Arunima. I started Maati Sona in 2018 to bring a bit of slow living into modern homes through clay. Every piece is made by my hands, intentionally celebrating the little quirks and imperfections that make them real.
