Hands-On Indian Music Classes for Kids
Experience the joy of rhythm with our hands-on music sessions, where little ones explore real miniature instruments in a playful, sensory-rich environment.
A bird's eye view of our jamming session, where little hands get to explore a variety of Indian percussion instruments. We gather in a circle to share sounds and rhythms, fostering a wonderful sense of community and musical discovery.
This is what our favorite part of the class looks like: the instrument jam session. Children gather around a collection of mini instruments, learning to play, share, and listen to the music they create together.
Watch our little ustaads in their element. This video captures moments of deep concentration while learning the tabla, joyful group movement, and the excitement of discovering new sounds with instruments like the dholak and manjira.
Our classroom is a treasure trove of sounds waiting to be discovered. In this video, you can see children exploring various instruments at their own pace, from mini bongos to shakers, all while our vocalists guide the session with music.
About Hands-On Instrument Fun
In our jamming sessions, your child gets to handle real, miniature instruments like tablas, dholaks, and manjiras. We skip the plastic toys to ensure they feel the true weight, sound, and resonance of these instruments. It is a noisy, messy, and joyful environment where they explore rhythm at their own pace.
This is where kids stop being just listeners and become players. We know that young children learn best through touch, which is why our jamming sessions are a core part of the Little Ustaads experience. When a child holds a mini tabla or picks up a manjira, they are not just making noise. They are learning about cause and effect, motor control, and the basics of rhythm. Each session is guided by a trained vocalist who encourages this spontaneous music-making. You will see toddlers and young kids learning to listen, wait for their turn, and interact with the sounds around them. It is perfectly okay if they drop a stick or make a loud clatter, as that is part of the process. We prioritize hygiene, so every instrument is sanitized before each class. Whether you are in our Tardeo, Worli, or Jaipur studio, the environment is safe, welcoming, and designed for small hands to explore freely.
