Hands-On Creativity & Art Programs
We believe the messier the process, the more magical the learning. Here, your child’s imagination takes center stage through sensory play, wild painting, and creative crafts.
Here, learning is tailored to each child. Whether it's using different crayons or finding a quiet corner to focus, I ensure every little star has the tools and space they need to paint, play, and learn in their own unique way.
The creativity continued at our Thanisandra campus for Crazy Hat Day. It was a whirlwind of twirls, giggles, and wonderfully imaginative hats, proving that fun and learning go hand-in-hand.
This is what I call creative chaos. At our Thanisandra camp, children dive into a world of color, craft, and stories. It’s in these moments of messy, joyful play that their confidence as creators truly blossoms.
Our Kothanur summer camp is buzzing with cool vibes. From drama and dance to squishy dough play, every day is a new adventure where children can express themselves and discover new talents.
We are soaking up the summer sun at our Thanisandra camp. The days are filled with smiles, surprises, and plenty of creative activities like blow painting and lantern making, unleashing pure childhood happiness.
Let's get crafty. I love seeing children express themselves through colors and shapes. Using simple materials like blocks and hoops, they build, design, and turn their imaginative ideas into reality.
For Ganesh Chaturthi, we celebrated by creating our own eco-friendly idols. It was a wonderful hands-on experience, teaching the children about tradition and the importance of caring for our planet.
Here comes the little Picasso. With pots of paint and brushes in hand, our art and craft activities are all about exploration. Every splash and stroke is a joyful expression of each child's unique creativity.
Hats never go out of style at Little Red Hen. Crazy Hat Day is a favorite event where we step into a world of wacky and fabulous hats, celebrating each child's unique flair and imagination.
Let's turn paper into petals. This simple craft activity is a garden of fun, where little hands carefully fold and shape paper into beautiful flowers. It’s a quiet, focused activity that yields a wonderful sense of accomplishment.
About Hands-On Creativity & Art
At our centers, we do not just hand out coloring books and tell kids to stay inside the lines. Whether it is tracing letters with soft cotton to learn phonics or crafting eco-friendly idols for Ganesha Chaturthi, we prioritize the sensory experience. We want your child to understand the texture, the shape, and the joy of creating something uniquely theirs, rather than just following a set of instructions.
True creativity thrives when children are given the freedom to explore. In our Kothanur and Thanisandra centers, we move away from scripted activities that require a specific outcome. Instead, we use 'loose parts' play, where materials like blocks, fabric, and natural objects have no set purpose. This encourages critical thinking and problem-solving, as children must decide how to use what is available to them.
Why Our Creative Approach Works
- Process-Oriented Art: From 'Maker Mayhem' sessions to blow painting, we focus on the joy of making. If a child spends an hour mixing paint just to see how colors blend, we consider that a successful lesson.
- Small Group Attention: With a maximum of 7 children per batch, our educators are present to guide, not to dictate. We have the space to notice if a child prefers the tactile sensation of dough play over drawing and can adjust our approach to match their interest.
- Integration with Learning: Creativity isn't separate from academics. Our 'Number Ninjas' and phonics cotton-tracing activities turn foundational skills into physical, memorable experiences. When a child learns to form the letter 'S' by feeling it, they retain that knowledge much better than they would from a worksheet.
- Community and Celebration: We host themed events like 'Crazy Hat Day' to give children a platform to express their unique personalities. We also integrate cultural celebrations, helping children connect their artistic expression to real-world traditions.
Little Red Hen
At Little Red Hen, we started back in 2014 as a group of women with big hearts and a shared vision for early education. We are not just another preschool ticking boxes. We wanted to build a place where kids feel truly at home, creating a safe space where they can explore, make a mess, and find their own creative voice.
