About After-School Enrichment Programs
Unlocking the joy of reading is at the heart of what we do at Little Red Hen. I want every child to feel excited about words, not stressed by textbooks or rote learning. Kids often walk in shy, maybe even refusing to pick up a pencil, and I’ve watched them turn into storytellers who can’t wait to share their ideas. That’s the change I love seeing.
What Makes Us Different
- Small, nurturing groups - never more than 7 kids together, so nobody gets lost in the crowd.
- Sessions built on hands-on literacy activities. We use cotton, pictures, stories, games, and lots of laughter. Boring, repetitive drills aren’t our thing.
- Progress gets tracked, but in a way that feels gentle. I celebrate even the tiny wins, and I’m always there if a child struggles.
How Our Sessions Work
- We focus on phonics-based enrichment, building strong reading and writing skills. Vocabulary and communication grow naturally as kids explore.
- Sessions run twice a week. Kids get worksheets, readers, and full access to our library (over 800 books - Indian and international authors).
- The program is for ages 4 to 10. I split the kids into two batches so activities actually fit their age.
If you’re looking for small group reading sessions where your child isn’t just another face, this could be the right fit.

Little Red Hen
My Story
We started Little Red Hen back in 2014, bunch of us women with big dreams and even bigger hearts. Not just another preschool, ya? We wanted a place where kids feel at home, not just students ticking boxes. One time, a tiny tot was scared to hold a pencil. We sat with her, did silly games, made her comfy. Soon she was scribbling away, proud as ever. That’s why we’re here - every child matters, every story counts.
