Traditional Maternity Photography in Mumbai
Your culture is a beautiful part of your story. I love incorporating traditional attire, like a saree, or cultural themes like Onam, to create maternity portraits that are rich with heritage and personal meaning.
Celebrating Onam with a beautiful maternity shoot. It was an honor to weave this client's vision and traditions into a story that felt so personal and festive.

About Celebrating Our Traditions
When we plan a traditional session, the focus is entirely on getting the styling and draping just right. I don't just drape a saree; we work together to ensure the fabric captures the grace of your heritage, whether it's a golden Kerala style or a vibrant regional drape, making sure you feel authentic and comfortable while looking regal for your portraits.
There is something incredibly powerful about weaving your roots into your maternity journey. In my Malad studio, we often blend modern maternity photography with the timeless elegance of cultural attire. Whether you want to recreate a specific festive look or bring in family heirlooms, I am here to guide you through it.
Why blend tradition with maternity?
Pregnancy is a time of transition, and celebrating your specific culture adds a layer of depth that generic photos simply cannot match. From the shimmer of a silk saree to the earthy tones of a boho-inspired traditional drape, these elements tell a story that your child will see years later. It is not just about the clothes; it is about honoring the lineage you are carrying forward.
The process in the studio
When you book a session focused on traditions, we start with a styling consultation. We discuss the look you are aiming for, the colors that resonate with your heritage, and how to style the fabric to flatter your bump. I handle the styling demonstrations and posing guidance so you can relax. You do not need to worry about being a model. My role as your photo doula is to ensure you feel beautiful and confident, capturing those candid, loving expressions that happen naturally once the outfit is set.
Practical details
We usually schedule these sessions for when you are between 28 and 34 weeks, as this is when you will likely feel most comfortable. If you have a specific traditional accessory, jewelry, or prop that holds significance, please bring it along. We can incorporate almost anything into the set to make the photos feel truly like yours.
