About Celebrating Our Roots
Bringing your own family saree to a shoot isn't just about an outfit; it’s about carrying a piece of your history into your motherhood story. I love it when clients come with a piece that has been passed down or holds deep meaning, and I work to build the entire creative set around those specific colors and textures so the focus remains on your connection to your roots.
When you choose a traditional theme, we move away from generic studio props. We use real, tactile elements—fresh marigolds, brass lamps, or even the specific silk saree your mother wore—to build a set that feels grounded. This isn't just about 'posed' photography. It is about creating a space where you feel connected to your identity, whether that is a South Indian aesthetic with jasmine and temple jewelry or a North Indian-inspired marigold setup.
My approach to these sessions is highly collaborative. If you have an heirloom piece, bring it. We will steam it, clamp it, and style it so it sits perfectly in the frame. I handle all the technical details—lighting, backdrop, and posing guidance—so you don't have to worry about looking stiff. My goal is to make sure the final images look like a piece of art that could sit on your living room wall for generations, not just a snapshot.
We can include your partner and children in these sessions as well. A family shoot is a team effort, and I have plenty of experience making sure everyone is comfortable. Whether we are capturing a quiet moment of prayer, a laugh shared over a flower petal, or simply a portrait of you in your traditional best, I am here to make sure the process is easy and the memories are real.
