A custom cat tree, built by Swapnil and Poonam over a two-day workshop. Now their cat has a dedicated space to relax and play.
The proud builders, Poonam and myself, during the assembly of the cat tree. It's a complex project, but we guide you every step of the way.
Another view of a cat tree in progress. This one is made from solid wood pillars and plywood platforms, designed to be both sturdy and stylish.
A collection of miniature rocking horse models. I use these to help students choose a design before they start building a full-sized one for their child.

About Create Your Own Furniture & Decor
You don't need a background in carpentry to walk out with something solid. Whether you are crafting a sturdy cat tree or a sleek desk organizer, we guide you through the raw process of measuring, cutting, and joinery. It is not just about the object; it is about getting your hands on power tools like jigsaws and routers, and learning how to assemble projects that actually last, rather than buying flat-pack furniture.
From Concept to Finished Piece
Most people arrive at our studio thinking they lack 'the knack' for building, but that usually changes by the second hour. Our workshops are designed to get you out of the 'planning' phase and into the 'doing' phase immediately. We focus on two main things: safety and methodology. You will learn to use essential tools—jigsaws, routers, and hand planes—in a controlled, small-batch environment (6–10 people) that ensures you get actual 1:1 time with the instructor.
Why This Workshop Matters
We source materials like Pine and Russian Birch Plywood specifically because they are forgiving to work with and look great finished. You are not building a model; you are building furniture you will actually use.
- Skill Focus: You learn precision cutting, edge routing, and basic joinery logic.
- The Experience: It is about that 'flow state' where the notifications on your phone stop mattering for a few hours.
- The Outcome: You walk away with physical projects—whether that is a stool, a bookshelf, or a custom decor piece—that are uniquely yours.
Who This Is For
Whether you are a design student looking to prototype an idea, a parent wanting to build something with your child, or just someone tired of their keyboard who wants to make something real, you belong here. We keep the vibe chilled and the learning curve manageable. By the time you leave, you will have a better understanding of how the things in your home are actually held together.
Kydo
I’m obsessed with the feeling of trading a keyboard for sawdust. At Kydo, we keep the workshops small so I can actually help you handle the heavy power tools safely. Come by to turn your ideas into physical objects—it’s the best kind of weekend project.
