Every portrait starts with your story. I work in charcoal, graphite, or oil paints, sometimes spending 25 to 40 hours on a single canvas to get the details just right. Before I put brush to paper, we will discuss your reference photo and the mood you want, ensuring the finished piece captures exactly what you feel.
Why choose a hand-drawn portrait? It carries a physical weight and emotion that a digital print cannot match. My work often takes me to my easel, where I spend hours layering charcoal or blending oil paints to catch the nuances of a smile or the wisdom in a person's gaze.
How we work together
- The Process: I do not believe in rushing. Creating a piece is a process on the way to success—you have to 'kamar kasna' (brace yourself for the hard work). Whether it is a quick A3 sketch or a larger oil canvas, each line is drawn with intent.
- What I need: A clear, high-resolution photo is the best starting point. If you have a specific scene or want to combine elements from different photos, we can chat about how to make it happen.
- Framing and Finish: Every commissioned portrait comes fully framed. I use high-quality fiber or synthetic wood frames, ensuring your art arrives ready to hang. For charcoal pieces, I use a matte fixative to prevent smudging, and for oils, I apply a varnish to protect against dust and moisture.
