Capturing Personalities: Custom Portraits

byPrernaIn-person workshops across NCRView full gallery

I turn your favorite photos into hand-painted memories. Whether it’s a portrait of a loved one, a pet, or a favorite character, I work with various mediums to create art that tells your unique story.

My first attempt at an oil portrait painting. This piece took around 20 hours to complete, and I'm so happy with the realistic result.

A creative eye drawing inspired by Vincent van Gogh's "Starry Night." A small but detailed piece made with pens.

A watercolor portrait of Sushmita Sen from her role in "Taali." Her powerful performance inspired me to capture her expression.

Another angle of the Sushmita Sen watercolor portrait, showcasing the details and the vibrant background wash.

A recent watercolor portrait I did of a client. I love how the background colors complement the subject. DM to get your own custom portrait.

A smiling portrait created with watercolors. These custom paintings make for wonderful, personal gifts for friends and family.

A watercolor portrait of Kriti Sanon as Sita from Adipurush, capturing a moment of grace and emotion.

About this collection

A custom portrait is more than just a painting; it is a captured memory. When we discuss your order, tell me the story behind the photo—if it is for a gift, we can choose a medium like watercolor for a soft, dreamy look or oils for a classic, textured finish. Since I paint everything by hand, we have the flexibility to adjust background colors or details to match your home decor or personal style.

How I Approach Your Portrait

My portrait work isn't about printing a photo; it is about recreating the emotion in your image. I specialize in a variety of mediums, each offering a different 'feel' for your final piece.

  • Watercolors: These are perfect for a vibrant, artistic aesthetic. I use high-quality paper and paints to capture expressions with a fluid, light-filled finish. These are often my go-to for portraits of people.
  • Soft Pastels & Charcoal: If you want something with deep texture and high realism, this is the way to go. These mediums require patience and layering, often taking several days, but the result is a rich, tactile piece of art.
  • Oil Paintings: This is for the classic aesthetic. Oil paints allow for incredible blending and longevity. They take time to dry and layer, making them the best choice for a heirloom-quality portrait.

Why Choose Hand-Painted?

When you commission a portrait in Delhi or NCR, you are getting more than just an image. You are getting a piece that was handled, studied, and painted with intention. I often ask clients about the 'vibe' they want—do you want the background to be simple so the focus stays on the subject, or should we add colorful, abstract elements to make it pop?

Whether you are looking for a personalized gift for a birthday, an anniversary surprise, or just want to capture a beautiful moment with your family, let's chat. I love hearing the background stories behind the photos you send. It helps me capture the character in the eyes and the warmth in the smile.
