Hand-Drawn Hyper-Realistic Portrait Commissions
I bring your memories to life using graphite and charcoal. Send me your favorite photo and let’s create something real, together.
A timelapse of a commissioned portrait for a client. It's always a pleasure to capture special bonds like this one.
The process of creating a double portrait requires careful attention to the placement and interaction between the subjects. Here, I am focusing on the fine details of the clothing patterns.
The final result of a recent commission. I focused on achieving a soft expression and the delicate details of the saree.
A work-in-progress shot of a portrait, showing the face and hair fully rendered before moving on to the clothing. This layering method is key to realism.
This video shows the shading process for a client's portrait, using both charcoal and graphite to build depth.
A close-up on the eye drawing process for a commission. Capturing the light in the eyes is what brings a portrait to life.
Here is a finished portrait sketch for a client. I paid special attention to the intricate patterns on the saree and the subject's gentle expression.
An in-progress view of a commission. The face is nearly complete, and you can see the initial outlines for the rest of the composition.
This is the foundational outline sketch. Getting the proportions right at this stage is the most important part of the process.
A full timelapse from start to finish for a commissioned piece. It shows the transformation from a simple line drawing to a detailed portrait.
About Commissioned Portraits
A good portrait is about more than just the outline. I spend 40 to 45 hours on every commission because I focus on the tiny details—the way light hits an eye, the texture of a saree, or the specific strands of hair—that make a drawing feel alive.
When you order a custom sketch, you aren't just paying for a drawing. You are paying for the 40 to 45 hours I spend at my desk, layering graphite and charcoal until the shadows look soft and the eyes look bright.
I work directly from your photos. Whether it is a portrait of a loved one, a wedding memory, or a gift for a special occasion, my process is the same. I start with the foundation—the proportions—because if the outline is wrong, the drawing will never look like the person. Then comes the shading. I use different pencil grades, from 2B to 10B, to build that depth and contrast.
If you are planning to gift a custom graphite portrait, keep in mind that quality takes time. I cannot rush the shading or the fine detailing, so please reach out well in advance. I pack every finished sketch with extra care and ship it safely to any location across India. If you have a specific reference photo you want me to work from, send it over and let’s talk about how to turn that memory into a real, handcrafted piece of art.
