Kizomba is less about complex footwork and more about that close, intuitive connection with your partner. You do not need to bring a partner with you; we rotate everyone in our batches so you get comfortable leading or following with different dancers, which is the fastest way to learn the flow and build your confidence.
What to Expect in Our Classes
When you join our Kizomba and Tarraxo sessions at the Green Park studio, you are not just learning steps. Sooraj and Rashmi from Casa Kizomba focus on body isolation, musicality, and how to maintain a comfortable frame with your partner.
We break down the movements so they feel natural rather than mechanical. In our beginner batches, we emphasize the basics of 'lead and follow' so you can transition from simply walking to feeling the rhythm of the music. For those looking to go deeper, our Tarraxo sessions introduce more intricate body waves and rhythmic control.
The Studio Environment
Our basement studio in Green Park is built for comfort, featuring full-wall mirrors to help you check your posture and split AC cooling to keep you refreshed during intense practice. We recommend wearing sneakers or rubber-soled shoes rather than traditional suede dance heels, as they grip better on our vitrified tile flooring.
Beyond the Classroom
We host regular Latin socials and practice nights because we believe the best way to master this style is by dancing with different people in a relaxed, club-like setting. If you miss a class, we offer a flexible make-up policy, and our instructors are always available to help you work through specific moves that you might find tricky.
