There is something timeless about black and white. I use high-grade graphite and charcoal to capture genuine expressions, turning your favourite memories into lasting art on fine paper.

A detailed look at a commissioned graphite pencil sketch. You can see the fine lines and shading used to create the texture of the saree and the gentle expressions in this portrait of a mother and son.

About Graphite Pencil Sketches

I draw these on heavyweight fine art paper, which I treat with a professional fixative spray before shipping. This prevents smudging and ensures your portrait stays sharp, whether you are gifting it or keeping it on your own wall.

While I love the vibrancy of acrylics, there is a certain honesty in graphite that I really enjoy. A pencil sketch strips back the noise and forces you to look at the light, the shadow, and the expression that makes a face unique.

I typically work on A3 sized, 300 GSM paper to give the sketch a sturdy, high-quality feel. I use professional-grade Staedtler and Brustro pencils, as these allow me to layer the shading until it feels just right. Whether it is a portrait of a loved one for a birthday, a memorial piece, or a sketch of a couple, my goal is always the same: to get the likeness perfect so you can see the person you know in the lines I draw.

Because art is personal, I am very careful with the final output. Every sketch is coated with a fixative spray that acts as a shield against moisture and fading. I roll each piece safely into an art tube for delivery so it arrives in your hands exactly as it left my desk. If you have a specific photo in mind, or if you want me to combine a few references into one meaningful composition, just send it over. Let us talk about what you want to create.

I am Karishma. For me, graphite is where the real emotion shows up, stripped back to just light and shadow. I put my heart into every sketch, ensuring that the person in the drawing looks exactly like the memory you want to hold onto.
