About this collection

Every charcoal piece I create comes sealed with a professional fixative spray, so you do not have to worry about smudging. Since these arrive rolled in a protective tube rather than framed, you have the flexibility to choose a frame that perfectly matches your home decor when it reaches you.

How I Bring Your Memories to Life

When you send me a reference photo, my process begins with a deep study of the subject. Whether it is a candid family moment or a portrait of a loved one, my goal is to capture more than just a likeness. I use graphite and charcoal on acid-free cartridge paper to ensure your portrait remains a timeless keepsake.

The Process

  1. Reference Selection: High-resolution photos work best, as they allow me to capture the subtle shading around the eyes and mouth that truly conveys personality.
  2. The Sketching Phase: I spend days layering graphite and charcoal. You will receive one progress update from me, which gives us a chance to make any minor adjustments before I finalize the shading.
  3. Preservation: Every sketch is treated with a professional fixative spray to lock in the details and prevent smudging during transit.
  4. Delivery: To keep your art safe, I ship all sketches rolled in a sturdy, protective PVC or cardboard tube. This helps ensure your artwork arrives in perfect condition, ready for you to frame.

Why Pencil and Charcoal?

There is a raw, honest beauty in monochrome. It strips away distractions and focuses entirely on the emotion of the subject. From the fine texture of hair to the delicate expressions of the eyes, I focus on the details that make your memory unique. If you have a specific vision, like adding a small pop of color to a monochrome sketch, let me know. I am always happy to experiment to make your art feel personal.
