Turning your cherished family memories into vibrant, lasting acrylic paintings. I help you preserve special moments with loved ones through detailed, hand-painted portraits.

A closer look at a memorial portrait I painted for a client. I used acrylics on a 3x2 canvas to capture the likeness and spirit of their beloved grandparents, creating a lasting tribute for their family.

The details are what make a portrait feel alive. Here is a close-up of the intricate floral pattern on a traditional jacket and the delicate fabric of a saree from a custom family painting.

This video reveals a family portrait, showing a son with his mother and wife. I take great care in painting expressions that show warmth and connection, making it a meaningful piece of art.

A detailed look at the faces and traditional attire in a multi-person family portrait. Capturing the shine of the gold jewellery and the texture of the sarees is a part of my process to make the painting realistic.

This time-lapse shows the process of painting a portrait of a man with a joyful expression. I use layers of acrylic paint to build up the skin tones and capture the play of light and shadow, bringing his smile to life.

Here I am applying a final varnish to a portrait. This protective layer not only makes the colours pop but also ensures the acrylic painting will last for many years without fading.

From a digital sketch on my tablet to a large canvas. This video shows my process for a commissioned portrait, starting with the initial outline and layering colours to build a realistic and personal piece of art.

A close-up of a finished acrylic portrait. I focus on capturing a relaxed and confident expression, paying attention to details like the glint in the eye and the texture of the clothing.

A full view of a commissioned acrylic portrait of a man seated in an armchair. This painting shows how I can create a complete scene from a photograph, turning it into a formal piece of art.

This process video shows the journey of creating a full-body portrait. You can see me working from a reference photo on my tablet, sketching on the canvas, and bringing the painting to life with acrylics, finishing with a protective varnish.

About Family & Generational Portraits

Every portrait is a process of layering, not just paint, but emotion. I work on medium cotton canvas using heavy-body acrylics, carefully rendering details like traditional jewellery or the specific texture of a saree. Whether you want to merge separate photos of grandparents into one frame or need a tribute piece for a loved one, I spend time getting the expression just right before sealing it with a gloss varnish for longevity.

Why a Hand-Painted Portrait?

Photographs are fleeting, but a painting carries the weight of the moment. My approach to family and generational art is rooted in realism, where I focus heavily on facial features and the warmth of a smile.

My Process

  1. The Vision: Share your reference photos. If you have separate images—like a grandparent and a grandchild who never met—I can combine them into a single composition to create that generational bond.

  2. The Sketch: Before the paint touches the canvas, I share an outline sketch. This is where we ensure the expressions and placement feel natural.

  3. The Painting: Using heavy-body professional acrylics, I build up layers to capture light, skin tones, and details like embroidery or gold jewellery.

  4. The Protection: Each portrait is finished with a UV-resistant gloss varnish, ensuring the colours stay vibrant for years to come.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you paint from old, blurry photos? I prefer clear photos as they allow me to capture more detail. If the photo is old, I may need a bit of guidance on specific colours or features, but I am happy to discuss what is possible.

Do you frame the paintings? I deliver the artwork safely rolled in a sturdy tube, ready for you to take to your local framer. This ensures the canvas arrives without damage.

How long does it take? Art is not something I rush. Depending on the size and number of subjects, it typically takes a few weeks. I will keep you posted throughout the process.
