Experience the Vempati Chinna Satyam style through disciplined, traditional training that balances rigorous technique with a deep connection to the art form.

Revisiting the timeless choreographies of my Master Garu is always a joy. Here, I am practicing a Hamsanandi Tillana, focusing on the intricate footwork and fluid movements.

My students practicing the Natesha Kauthuvam, a vibrant piece choreographed by my guru, Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam. It is wonderful to see them cherish and preserve these gems.

The 'bhramaris' or spins in the Natesha Kauthuvam are incredibly challenging, requiring speed, balance, and precision. My students are seen here mastering this difficult sequence.

Hours of practice lead to a fleeting moment of perfection on stage. This video captures my students during a rigorous rehearsal session for our performance at Tirumala.

This is a jathi, or rhythmic sequence, from a Tarangam I recently choreographed. Here, my students are seen practicing the piece, showcasing the grace and power of Kuchipudi.

About The Art of Teaching: Classes & Practice

We dedicate the first 15 minutes of every session to Nāṭyasāstra theory and Shlokas, ensuring you understand the foundation behind the movement before moving into Adavus and body kinetics. This disciplined approach builds the necessary muscle memory and mental clarity required to master the complex Bhramaris and rhythmic patterns of the repertoire.

My teaching at KimAham is anchored in the Guru-Shishya Parampara, focusing on the pedagogy of my Mastergaru, Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam. We do not rush through steps. Instead, we break down every Jathi and Tarangam, emphasizing the precision of the footwork and the subtle Abhinaya that gives Kuchipudi its soul.

The Training Curriculum

Our classes at Adarsh Palm Retreat and Thubarahalli are designed for serious practice. The environment is built to support your growth, with professional sprung flooring to protect your joints and full-length mirrors for real-time posture correction.

We structure the curriculum into three pillars:

  • Foundational Kinetics: Mastering traditional Adugulu and rigorous body alignment.
  • Theory & Aesthetics: Studying the Nāṭyasāstra to understand the philosophy behind our movements.
  • Performance Polish: Preparing for solo debuts like the Rangapravesham, where we focus on stagecraft, Nattuvangam coordination, and audience engagement.

Flexible Learning Paths

Whether you are a beginner looking to build a foundation or an advanced dancer prepping for an Arangetram, the path is personalized. I offer regular group sessions with quarterly progress assessments, as well as 1-on-1 private mentorship for those focusing on micro-details like facial expression and intricate Talam structures. For non-local students, our workshop modules are available with hybrid access and class recordings, ensuring the distance never disrupts your riyaaz (practice).
