Kobudo Weapon Training and Nunchaku Skills
Traditional Okinawan weapon training to build focus, speed, and precision. It is a natural step for students looking to master their coordination and control.
I also teach Kobudo, the art of Okinawan weapons. This is a demonstration of nunchaku techniques, which improves coordination, speed, and focus.
About Kobudo: The Way of Weapons
We start Kobudo training only after you build a solid base in empty-hand basics. You will begin with foam nunchaku to develop rhythm and control before progressing to hardwood weapons. It teaches you that a weapon is just an extension of your own body, not a separate tool.
In Okinawan Kobudo, the weapon is never the hero; you are. This training is about control. When you handle the nunchaku, your mind must be completely still. If you are distracted, you will hit yourself. This is why I insist on disciplined practice.
We start with foam practice. It removes the fear of injury so you can focus on the technique itself. As you improve, we move to wood. This is not just about swinging; it is about distance, timing, and flow. We train the upper body to move independently while the lower body stays rooted in stable karate stances.
This is part of my advanced curriculum. Whether you are training for competition or just want to challenge your limits, Kobudo brings a new layer of sharpness to your karate practice.
