The BGI Karate Family Experience
Martial arts is about more than just kicks and punches. Here at BGI, we believe in building a community—from local village picnics to national competitions, this is our karate family.
A wonderful day out with my masters and students on a small picnic. We visited our master's home and beautiful places like Yelaruvi, strengthening our bonds outside the dojo.
This is what our BGI Karate Family looks like. A huge group of happy students at the end of our summer camp, all part of our supportive community.
The BGI family at the national level. A group photo from the Chennai competition, showing our team of students and instructors together.
Our family extends across the globe. This is a group photo from the international seminar in Indonesia, connecting with fellow karateka from around the world.
About this collection
When we step out for a picnic to Yelaruvi or travel for a national seminar in Chennai, my students learn that karate is about discipline, yes, but also about the people standing beside you. We do not just teach forms and sparring in our Tirupattur dojo; we build a support system where every student, from beginner to black belt, feels like they belong to something bigger.
We call it the BGI Karate Family because that is exactly what it feels like. I learned from grandmasters in Japan and Shihan N. Kathiravan, and I bring that same spirit of respect and community to every session.
Whether it is our intense competition coaching for state tournaments or our casual weekend seminars, we ensure that students are not just learning Shito-Ryu karate or traditional Silambam; they are gaining confidence. Our training environment is inclusive, welcoming kids, college students, and adults alike. We focus on building a fire inside you, making sure that whether you are practicing basic Kihon or advanced Kata, you have a group cheering you on.
The bond we form during our summer camps and training trips translates directly into better focus and performance on the mat. We keep the atmosphere lively and supportive, whether we are at our main dojo in the Bharath Group of Institutions or holding classes in local village settings. My goal is to see my students become champions, and that starts with the friends they make here. Come join the group, share the passion, and let us train together.
Karate Naveen
I am Karate Naveen, and I view every student who steps onto our mats as part of my own family. Whether we are preparing for a tournament or learning traditional Silambam, I make sure everyone feels supported and encouraged every single day.
