Why just paint when you can build a rocket or bring a story to life? My workshops use creativity to spark curiosity, merging art with science concepts and storytelling to help kids learn while they explore.

An art workshop I hosted for students from Jammu and Kashmir, where they used my DIY Chandrayaan kit to create space-themed art. It was a powerful session of healing and creativity.

A closer look at the Chandrayaan art workshop in progress. Students are seen painting planets and assembling their models, blending scientific themes with artistic expression.

A wider view of the Chandrayaan workshop, showing the collaborative and focused environment as students work together on their space art projects.

A glimpse into my Summer Art Camp where science meets art. This video shows kids engaged in a fun activity that combines scientific principles with creative painting.

This is what happens when stories leap off the page! A recap of a session with Nooks & Books, where children listened to a story and then drew the characters as they imagined them.

An online Story & Art camp in action! Here, I'm working with a theatre practitioner to help kids express stories visually, all through a live Zoom session.

Using puppets to tell stories and inspire art. This activity helps children develop their communication and collaboration skills in a playful, imaginative way.

More puppet play from our storytelling and art session. It's a fantastic tool for encouraging kids to express themselves and build narratives together.

About Art Fused with Science & Stories

These are not standard drawing classes where kids just copy a sketch. We use hands-on DIY kits, like our space-themed Chandrayaan model, to explore concepts like magnetism, or collaborate with authors to illustrate storybook characters through art. It is about understanding the world through making things, not just memorizing facts.

How Science Meets Art

When we combine art with science, children stop viewing these subjects as separate entities. Our Science-Art workshops involve building and customizing DIY models, like the Chandrayaan kit. This helps kids visualize scientific principles—like propulsion or magnetism—while working with their hands. It turns abstract concepts into something tangible and permanent that they can take home.

Bringing Stories to Life

For our Story-Art sessions, we invite guest authors and theatre practitioners to spark imagination. Kids listen to a narrative and then draw the characters as they visualize them. We often use props like puppets to encourage dialogue. This isn't just about drawing; it is a literacy-building exercise that improves communication and helps children process their own emotions through the characters in the story.

Why This Approach Matters

My background in child psychology informs every session. We focus on the '4 Cs':

  • Creativity: Learning to see multiple solutions to a single problem.
  • Collaboration: Working in small groups of 5-15, which naturally builds social skills.
  • Critical Thinking: Experimenting with how materials work, like clay or acrylics on 3D surfaces.
  • Communication: Expressing feelings when there are no right or wrong answers.

Whether you are joining us online via Zoom or at our centers in Dombivli or Sector 76, Noida, the goal is to create a pressure-free space. We want kids to stop worrying about 'perfomance' and start enjoying the process of creation.

Hi, I am Sharvari. I started Kalarang Club because I believe art is the best bridge between a child's imagination and real-world concepts. When we combine art with science or stories, kids stop worrying about making a 'perfect' drawing and start focusing on the fun of figuring things out.
