It takes more than just basic obedience to excel in the show ring. I specialize in bringing out the structure, gait, and focus your dog needs to stand out, win, and shine.

About this collection

It is not just about winning the trophy; it is about the trust between you and your dog during the high-pressure environment of a show. Whether I am helping you perfect a breed-specific stack or refining your dog's gait movement, my focus is on building their confidence so they look as happy as they are athletic, even in the middle of a crowded arena.

Success in the show ring requires a unique combination of discipline, conditioning, and a strong bond with the handler. At K9 Gurukul, I have spent years training dogs for major events, from the Ooty Dog Show to Karavali Obedience Trials. This experience has taught me how to read a dog's body language and keep them calm while strangers—the judges—perform physical examinations.

How I Prepare Your Champion

Show handling is an art form that goes beyond basic commands. My one-on-one sessions focus on:

  • Stacking and Presence: Teaching your dog to hold a breed-specific pose that highlights their anatomy and structure.
  • Gait Movement: Training your dog to trot at a consistent, rhythmic pace so judges can evaluate their movement and athleticism.
  • Judge Tolerance: Desensitizing your dog to being handled and examined by unfamiliar people, ensuring they remain calm and cooperative in the ring.
  • Ring Focus: Building the focus required to ignore other competing dogs and stay locked into your lead, even in high-distraction environments.

More Than Just Ribbons

While my roots are in competition, this training carries over into other forms of performance. I use these same techniques to prep dogs for the unique demands of film sets, where lights, microphones, and camera equipment can be overwhelming. Whether you are aiming for a title at a kennel club event or preparing your dog for a film role, I ensure your companion stays relaxed, confident, and ready to perform. We do not use harsh methods; we rely on reward-based techniques to keep the wag in their tail, because a happy dog is always the best performer.
