Basic Obedience & Household Manners (3 Months)
Course Structure
- Duration: 3 month program consisting of 24 practical sessions.
- Frequency: Classes held 2 to 3 times per week, 45 to 60 minutes each.
- Venue: Primarily outdoor training grounds to simulate real environments, with specific home sessions included.
Core Curriculum
- Command Mastery: Teaches Sit, Down, Stay, Recall (Come), and Leave it.
- Leash Training: Heel Walk techniques to prevent pulling and ensure calm walking.
- Puppy Protocols: Includes crate training guidance and strict potty schedules for dogs under 6 months.
Advanced Skills
- Household Chores: Specialized training for tasks like fetching newspapers or picking up dropped items.
- Socialization: Controlled exposure to other dogs to ensure neutrality.
- Owner Training: Owners must join 25% of sessions to learn handling and bond building.
Advanced Behavioral & Reactivity Training (Monthly)
Scope of Training
- Package: 1 month intensive course comprising 12 sessions.
- Reactivity: Desensitization for aggression or fear towards strangers, vehicles, or other dogs.
- Food Refusal: Critical safety training to ignore food on the ground or from strangers to prevent poisoning.
Real World Application
- Distraction Proofing: Sessions held in high traffic areas like busy streets to test focus.
- Resource Guarding: Corrections for possessive behavior over toys or food bowls.
- Impulse Control: Techniques to maintain eye contact with the handler amidst chaos.
Requirements
- Expert Handling: Conducted strictly by Senior Trainers.
- Equipment: Utilizes long lines for distance control and safety collars (owner provided).
Professional Show & Media Handling
Show Ring Preparation
- Stacking: Teaching breed specific standing poses for judges.
- Gait Movement: Training the dog to trot at the correct pace to showcase structure.
- Judge Tolerance: Desensitizing the dog to physical examinations by strangers.
Media & Film Work
- Set Readiness: Exposure to lights, boom mics, and reflectors for film or ad shoots.
- Distance Control: Execution of commands via hand signals when the handler is off camera.

- Trainer: Exclusive 1 on 1 coaching with the Head Trainer.
- Format: Pay per session model for high level custom requirements.

My Story
At K9 Gurukul, we’re not just a dog training place, we’re a big family. Dogs, humans, all together – celebrating birthdays, Friendship Day, sometimes just because. Our Simba even became a movie star in 'Naanu Matthu Gunda 2' (yeah, he dubbed for himself!). But it’s not only about the spotlight. We run adoption drives, rescue streeties, and yes, we cry when our dogs leave us. This is our life with dogs – full circle, all heart.
