Advanced Dog Training & Sports in Bengaluru
Move beyond basic commands. Whether it is freestyle tricks or high-drive sports, I help you and your dog build the focus, confidence, and teamwork needed to master advanced skills together.
This is the result of our hard work in an online freestyle class. For a dog like Spartan who used to be anxious outdoors, being able to focus and perform these complex tricks is a huge achievement. It shows how training can transform a dog's confidence.
This is Spartan showing off his bite pillow work. This type of structured, high-drive play is a fantastic outlet for working breeds. It's not about aggression; it's a controlled game that satisfies their genetic instincts and builds incredible focus.
Playing tug with a trained working dog like Whiskey is like a dance. It requires communication, timing, and trust. This kind of engagement is what I strive to build between any owner and their dog, turning play into a conversation.
I love connecting with other trainers and their amazing dogs. Here I am at a Decoy School in Kochi, interacting with Whiskey, a working line German Shepherd. Continuously learning and engaging with high-level dog sports helps me bring the best techniques to my clients.
We're a team, so we work out as a team! This was a fun and challenging session where we combined human planks with dog trick training. It's a great example of how you can integrate training into every part of your life.
The "leave it" command is more than just a trick; it's a vital impulse control exercise. Spartan is showing off his solid "freeze" here. This level of self-control is built step-by-step with positive reinforcement.
You don't need a lot of fancy equipment to challenge your dog's mind. Here, I'm using a single wooden block to practice five different focus-building exercises with Spartan. This kind of mental workout is just as important as physical exercise.
About Advanced Skills & Dog Sports
Training for advanced skills isn't just about showing off tricks. It is about 'engagement.' In my sessions, we move away from basic lures to build a communication loop where your dog chooses to focus on you, even amidst distractions. We start with simple markers like wooden block pivots to build their drive and confidence before moving to the complex movements required for sports like freestyle or protection-based games.
Advanced training is where the bond between you and your dog really matures. When your dog has the basics down, you have a solid platform to challenge their mind and body. My approach, influenced heavily by my own journey with Spartan, is always force-free. We use play—tug, fetch, and structured exercises—to teach impulse control and coordination.
Why Sports Matter
For high-drive dogs, standard obedience often isn't enough. They need a job. That is where activities like freestyle trick training or the foundations of protection sports come in. These aren't about creating aggression; they are about teaching your dog to channel their natural instincts into a controlled, cooperative game. When a dog plays tug with a bite pillow, they are learning timing, focus, and self-control, all while burning off that excess energy in a healthy way.
My Training Approach
- Freestyle & Tricks: We break down complex movements into tiny, achievable steps. If your dog can learn to weave between your legs or perform a 'center' position, they are learning how to use their body and listen to your cues in motion.
- Sports Foundations: We build the drive first. Whether it is 'leave it' drills near triggers or high-arousal impulse control, the goal is a dog that can switch between 'on' and 'off' modes.
I travel across Bengaluru to work with you in your space, ensuring your dog feels comfortable in their environment. We don't just practice; we play, we bond, and we unlock the potential your dog has been waiting to show. If you are ready to take that next step from simple commands to a lifetime adventure buddy, let's get to work.
