About Team iPPON: Community & Competition
We run our sparring sessions like a real match, not a workout. You will practice your takedowns and escapes against a resisting partner, which is exactly why our members consistently show up ready to compete in local grappling tournaments.
Why We Compete
At Team iPPON in HSR Layout, we believe the mat is where you learn who you are. We do not just teach techniques; we prepare you for the pressure of a real match. Whether it is the Bangalore Open or the Phenomenal Invitational Series, our members are regularly testing their skills in the competitive circuit.
The Training Process
Competition preparation is not just cardio. It is about 'rolling'—controlled but intense sparring that forces you to think, move, and react. You start with drills to build the muscle memory for submissions and guards, and then you apply that pressure in live scenarios. Our quarterly members get priority access to weekend open mats, which is where the real growth happens.
A Squad, Not Just a Gym
You walk in as an individual, but you train as part of a family. Our community is built on mutual respect and the shared goal of getting better every day. We do not have room for big egos. We have room for people who want to show up, put in the work, and support the person next to them. If you are looking to get tournament-ready or just want a training environment that takes your progress seriously, you will fit right in.
