About Upcoming Performances & Workshops
Every performance you see here reflects the rigorous sadhana we practice at Ambalam. You are not just attending a routine show; you are witnessing the Margam—the full traditional sequence—performed with the same precision, physical conditioning, and abhinaya depth that we train for in the studio. We prioritize the purity of the art form over flashy stage gimmicks, ensuring that the dancer, the live orchestra, and the Rasikas share a genuinely focused space.
At Ambalam, we believe the audience is the final partner in our dance. A performance is incomplete without the shared energy between the performer and the Rasikas. When you attend these events, you will experience the integration of live Carnatic music, as my husband, T.V. Ramprasadh, often leads the orchestra. This live synergy is central to our choreography, allowing for spontaneous musical nuances that pre-recorded tracks simply cannot capture.
Whether you are looking to witness a student's debut, a professional Margam, or one of my own solo recitals, please note that we perform at diverse venues, from intimate studio spaces to major sabhas in Chennai and Bengaluru. For those interested in the technical side, we also occasionally host lecture-demonstrations where I deconstruct complex abhinaya concepts.
We invite all true lovers of the art to join us. Please check the dates, book your tickets through the respective venue links provided, and come prepared to enjoy the journey in silence and focus.
