For me, Bharatanatyam is like breathing - it’s not just steps, it’s a way to feel rooted. I don’t do quick-fix hobby classes. This is sadhana, lifelong learning, and connection to our culture. I stick to the Guru-Shishya training method, so classes are personal, intense, and honest. If you want something deep, not just surface level, you’ll fit right in.
Every session starts with Adavu techniques. No shortcuts, no skipping basics. That’s how neat, powerful dancers are made. Once your base is strong, we move into the Margam curriculum: from Alarippu to Thillana, you’ll learn the whole traditional sequence. Padam, Javali, devotional pieces - all covered.
Expression matters as much as technique. A lot of time goes into Abhinaya, learning to show emotions and tell stories through dance. Plus, the music side isn’t ignored - my husband, Ramprasad, brings Carnatic vocal expertise so you develop a real ear for rhythm and melody.
If you’re ready for Arangetram preparation or want to go pro, I mentor you like an Akka. You’ll get stage experience, learn Nattuvangam, and understand how live productions work. Not always easy, but the growth is huge.
Kids, adults, folks returning after a long break, advanced dancers - you’ll find a place here if you’re sincere. I want my students to become artists who know where they come from and carry it with pride.

My Story
My Work
Bharatanatyam & More at Ambalam - I perform solo and with my family ensemble, choreograph new works, and guide students. We also teach Carnatic music and Yoga.
Guru & Mentor - I take my role as Acharya seriously. Watching my students grow as dancers is my biggest joy.
Family Ensemble - Performing with my husband, son, daughter-in-law, and senior disciples—our Ambalam Ensemble creates conceptual dance choreography.
For Rasikas - Audience presence is precious. Let’s keep the vibe pure—save the claps for the end, enjoy the journey.
