About Landscape Architecture & Environmental Design
Why Our Landscapes Matter
I see landscape architecture as the heart of every project, not just a finishing touch. My goal is simple: create outdoor spaces that make people feel at home, spark conversation, and reconnect us with nature. I don’t believe in cookie-cutter parks or lifeless lawns - every detail is tuned to how people will actually use the space and how it fits into its surroundings.
How I Design Places That Work
- I start with the land itself, letting the terrain, climate, and local ecology guide the design.
- Human-centric outdoor spaces are my priority, so I look for ways to make courtyards, walkways, and parks places people actually want to be.
- Sustainable site planning is essential. I use native plant landscaping to boost biodiversity and rely on water-saving systems wherever possible.
- I’m always thinking about how to make outdoor spaces comfortable, using green roofs, shaded corridors, water features, and smart layouts to naturally keep things cool and breezy.
Where My Approach Comes Alive
- I’ve shaped outdoor spaces for schools, hospitals, housing, and resorts. Each one is tailored to its community and environment.
- From terrace gardens in colleges to forest trails in cities, I focus on designs that support well-being and bring people together.
- Sometimes nature throws a curveball, like tricky terrain or harsh climates. I work with it, not against it, to make sure the end result feels like it truly belongs.

My Story
Hey, we’re IMK Architects. Been around Mumbai for 65 years, but we’re always learning, always experimenting. Our thing? Architecture that feels alive, not just walls and roofs. Rahul, our principal, keeps saying it’s all about connecting people, making spaces that help folks grow. Whether we’re sketching out a busy campus or a peaceful garden, we’re chasing that vibe where everyone belongs. We’re big on community, workshops, and those spontaneous walks that spark new ideas.
My Work
What We Do - We design campuses, hospitals, homes, hotels, public spaces, and big urban projects. Full-service, all in.
Our Approach - People-centric architecture drives us. We want spaces buzzing with social energy, built for connection.
Nature in Design - Green spaces matter. We use natural light, terrace garden architecture, and open courtyards for well-being.
Material & Tech Know-How - We’re into climate-responsive design, acoustic tweaks, and sustainable building materials that shape experience.
Working Together - Collaboration is key. We team up with clients, consultants, artisans—debate, chat, create something real.
