We believe buildings shouldn't close the world out. Our approach to biophilic design uses natural light, ventilation, and greenery to turn static structures into breathing environments.

The central atrium at Konark Academy is the heart of the building, designed to foster connection. A massive skylight floods the multi-story space with natural light, creating a bright and airy core that all classrooms open onto.

The corridors at Konark Academy are designed to be more than just passages. By opening one side to a central courtyard, we ensure they are filled with sunlight and fresh air, making the journey between classes a pleasant experience.

The assembly garden at the school entrance features stepped seating integrated into the landscape. This biophilic design provides a green waiting area for parents and a perfect spot for school photographs.

About Biophilic Design: Light, Air & Greenery

When we designed the atrium at Konark Academy, we treated it as the building's lungs rather than just a lobby. By utilizing a massive skylight, we flood every internal corridor with natural light, reducing the need for artificial energy while creating a constant connection to the sky. This structural choice ensures that students and staff feel the shift of the day as they move between classes, proving that smart planning can make a massive building feel alive.

The Enrich Salon in Bangalore is a space designed to be surrounded by nature. We preserved an old bungalow and its verdant vegetation, creating a salon with therapeutic vibes. This styling area features an open, airy design with views of the lush garden.10
A semi-open space at Enrich Salon extends from the backyard, serving as a pedicure and lounge area. It is open on one side to invite gentle breezes and natural light, making the most of Bengaluru’s pleasant weather.

We designed this office to feel tranquil and connected to nature. A path winds through a lush garden, leading to a workspace that is filled with soft, natural light.7
The entrance to the office is framed by bamboo and potted palms. The glass door reflects the surrounding greenery, immediately establishing a calm and biophilic atmosphere.

The outdoor green area at our own studio serves as an open break-out zone. This lush space, with its stone pathway and vertical garden, brings a lot of positivity.

A perfect example of a thriving community space. The large, open lawn at this residential project is a direct result of planning that prioritizes shared green areas, providing a safe and beautiful environment for children and families to connect.17
At Sona Vistaas in Bengaluru, I used strategic landscape insertions like these planters and benches to create intimate, shaded seating areas. These spaces enhance the microclimate and encourage casual interactions between neighbors.
The courtyard at Sona Vistaas is designed as a dynamic community hub. The multi-level design, combining hardscape and softscape, creates a variety of spaces for different activities, catering to all age groups.
Public space held by buildings is a core tenet of my work. At JSW Vidyanagar, the residential blocks are arranged to form a protected central green, a safe and expansive play area that becomes the heart of the community.

Our vision for the Westin Nashik is a prime example of biophilic architecture. The building is draped in greenery, with cascading plants and landscaped terraces that merge the structure with the lush, natural hillside.9
