The Martial Yogi Way: Discipline and Strength
This is where movement meets mindfulness. A look into our Martial Yogi method—blending the raw discipline of Kung Fu with the focus of yoga.
This is what happens when focus and power meet. We call this the jumping free kick or air split. It is a moment of pure expression, a testament to the dynamic energy we cultivate in our training. This is the peak of control and athleticism that we work towards.
Our practice is rooted in the deep traditions of yoga. Here you can see our students moving through advanced asanas, from a steady Sirshasana (headstand) to a challenging Pincha Mayurasana (forearm stand). We build a strong foundation to help you explore your limits safely, whether indoors or on a rooftop in Mysore.
The energy of a group moving together is powerful. This was a special day where our community came together, blending traditional yoga like Vrikshasana (tree pose) with explosive martial arts jumps. It shows that this path is for everyone who is willing to try.
Progress comes one step at a time. We were so proud the day this little one achieved her full split. With gentle guidance and her own determination, she found her strength. It is a reminder that dedication knows no age.
Flexibility is not just a physical skill; it is a discipline. We work closely with each student, providing hands-on assistance to help them safely deepen their stretches and achieve goals like the full front split. This is a partnership between student and teacher.
About Featured
We do not do 'stretch-and-relax' yoga here. Whether you are practicing a Sirshasana (headstand) or a jumping kick, every movement has a purpose and requires focus. We train in functional spaces, school halls, and open parks because true strength is built through discipline and repetition, not by needing fancy mirrors or air conditioning. If you are looking for a community that values grit as much as flexibility, this is where you start.
Our 'Martial Yogi' method is born from a simple belief: mastery requires uniting spirit, strength, and technique. When I started these classes in Namma Mysuru back in 2013, it was just me and two students. Today, that same madness for learning fuels our sessions in both Mysore and Bangalore.
Why we train this way
We don't sell shortcuts. You will find that our sessions are rigorous. We blend Hatha Yoga fundamentals with Kung Fu warm-up drills to build heat and endurance. This isn't just about touching your toes—it's about building the control to hold a pose and the explosive power to execute a form.
Who is this for?
Our classes are open to everyone—kids, adults, and seniors. We believe training together creates a unique energy. You might be in a group flow session in Gokulam or working on advanced inversions in a small batch in JP Nagar. In every setting, we prioritize form and safety.
What to expect
- No Frills: We train in parks, on terraces, and in school halls. Bring your own mat and an open mind.
- Discipline First: Expect clear instructions. We move together, we chant, and we sweat.
- Real Progress: From getting your first full split to mastering a headstand, we focus on milestones. We use photo and video analysis to help you see the improvement you are making, week by week.
Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to sharpen your existing practice, the path is the same: show up, put in the work, and respect the training.
