About Behind the Brand
Our design process starts with art, not trends. Whether it is a painting that catches our eye or a texture we admire, we translate that inspiration into original prints and weaves right here in our studio. Everything is crafted by our team of karigars in India, focusing on fluidity and ease, because we believe the most important part of any outfit is how it lets you move.
Our Design Philosophy
At Wasabi, we have a simple rule. If you cannot breathe or move freely in it, we do not make it. We started this brand because we were tired of being told to squeeze into rigid, uncomfortable clothes. We design for real bodies. Our silhouettes are fluid, relaxed, and designed to move with you whether you are at a festive dinner or just going about your day.
Art into Fashion
Everything you see in our collection begins as a spark of inspiration. Sometimes, it is an abstract painting. Other times, it is a mood. We take those visual ideas and work with our karigars to create custom screen prints or hand-block patterns. It means when you wear a Wasabi piece, you are wearing something with a story behind it, not something churned out by a machine.
Sustainability is a Commitment
We do not just talk about sustainability. We practice it by working with artisans and using breathable natural fabrics like pure silk and Chanderi. We focus on slow fashion. This means creating pieces that last and do not end up at the back of your closet after one season. We even add pockets to almost everything because we know how practical that is.
