Our 'Design a Book Cover' contest is a chance for kids to let their imagination run wild. We provide a story description and they get to illustrate a brand new cover for it.
About Reading Challenges & Community Fun
If your child thinks libraries are just for sitting still, you are in for a pleasant surprise. We turn every story into a mission, so whether it is our Reading BINGO where kids might have to read with a pet or our annual contests, they are always doing something active. It is not about finishing books; it is about building a real relationship with them. Bring your little ones by our Koramangala space and you will see how quickly they trade screens for stories.
Why we make reading a team sport
Reading is usually a solo act at school, but at our library, it is a community festival. We use gamification to make sure children look at a book cover and see a new world rather than a chore. Our Reading BINGO is a classic favorite, featuring dares that get kids off the couch and engaged. You might find your child building a pillow fort just to finish a chapter or reading in the dark with a flashlight.
Beyond the BINGO
Our 'Great Tale Chase' board game and seasonal book cover design contests are where the magic happens. We do not just hand out books; we hand out prizes, celebrate participants, and host interactive sessions with guest authors. When a child sees their peer excited about a story, that enthusiasm is contagious. It moves the needle from 'I have to read' to 'What adventure is next?'
A space to grow
We keep our library in Koramangala lively. You will not find whispering zones here. We have floor seating, sensory play, and a rotating schedule of events. Whether it is a Saturday Story Club meet or a festive celebration like Pongal or Holi, we create memories that tie a child’s early years to the love of literature. It is not about who reads the fastest, but about who finds the most joy in the journey.

We are Hoo Hippocampus, a library where kids shout and get messy. We ditched the 'shhh' rule years ago because we believe the best readers are the ones having the most fun.
