Session Structure
- Duration: 60 to 90 minutes of facilitated activity.
- Leadership: Sessions run by internal library staff or visiting authors/artists.
- Format: Begins or ends with a theme-relevant read aloud session.
Themes & Materials
- Skill Workshops: Focus on cooking (no-fire), art, or sensory play (slime, water beads).
- Festivals: Activities centered on events like Holi, Pongal, or Ganesh Chaturthi.
- Supplies: Includes card paper, glue, organic colors, clay for idols, or cooking ingredients (bread, fruit).
Food & Takeaway
- Refreshments: Simple kid-friendly snacks like samosas, badam milk, or the food item prepared in class.
- Craft Outcome: Child takes home their creation, such as a paper collage, clay idol, or kite.

- Duration: 2.5 to 3 hours.
- Decor: Extensive handmade set design transforming the venue (e.g. brick walls for Platform 9 3/4, spooky tunnels, themed bunting).
- Staffing: Multiple facilitators dressed in character (wizards, fairies) to lead group games.

- Experiments & Crafts: Themed tasks like potion making with dry ice, wand decorating with hot glue/paint, or wing construction.

5 Day Holiday Camp Module
Program Details
- Schedule: 5 consecutive days (Monday to Friday), running 2.5 to 3 hours daily.

- Curriculum: Modules include 'Hoo's Travels' (Geography), 'Elemental' (Science), or Coding/Robotics.
Materials Provided
- Learning Kits: Use of specialized tools like Arduino kits, lab supplies, or cultural mapping scrapbooks.
- Cumulative Project: Students work toward a final output, such as a completed travel journal, a coded game, or a mechanical model.
Daily Inclusions
- Food: Daily snack service (sandwiches, fruit, juice).
- Completion: Certificate of participation or a closing ceremony presentation.

At Hoo Hippocampus, kids run the show - we just set the stage. I see learning as an adventure and make sure every event feels like a playground, not a classroom. If your child is curious, wiggly, or just loves a good story, they’ll fit right in.
What Happens Here
Every week, I mix up hands-on fun, so no two events feel the same. Here’s what your little one might dive into:

Celebrations & Camps
We don’t need a reason to celebrate, but we’ll take one! From festival-themed kids parties (Holi, Pongal, Halloween, you name it) to legendary Harry Potter days, I go all out. School holidays? That’s when my holiday camp experiences kick in, with themes like travel, coding, or art.
Littlest Learners
Even toddlers (15 months+) get their own space with Baby & Me and Busy Todd sessions. It’s all about simple, joyful bonding and gentle play for both child and caregiver.

My Story
Hey! We’re Hoo Hippocampus, not your regular shhh-library. Kids here don’t tiptoe – they shout HOLI HAI! and get messy with crafts, meet authors, make fairy wings, and join wild Harry Potter parties. Started with just a wild idea: books and fun, always together. Every festival, every story, we celebrate big. We want every kid to feel like family and find joy in reading. Come join our noisy book gang!
