Healing Through Writing Workshops in the Himalayas
Step away from the city noise and find clarity in Satkhol. Our guided retreats offer a safe, quiet space to process emotions through writing, led by clinical psychologist Dr. Vandita Dubey.
Our healing retreats are personally guided by Dr. Vandita Dubey, a clinical psychologist with over 25 years of experience. She creates a safe space for you to reflect on your life and gain fresh perspectives through writing.
This Himalayan workshop is an invitation to step away from the noise and into yourself. It's a structured program designed for healing and self-growth, using writing as a therapeutic tool.
Find yourself again under the vast Himalayan sky. Our expressive writing program is designed to help you untangle your thoughts and reconnect with your inner voice in a peaceful, natural setting.
If every decision feels overwhelming and your thoughts are a constant, noisy loop, this retreat is for you. We focus on helping you find the quiet you crave.
Between endless notifications and everyone else's opinions, your inner voice can get drowned out. We provide the space and guidance to help you hear it clearly again.
A simple but powerful question we explore at the retreat. Our guided journaling exercises are designed to help you listen to your own thoughts without judgment.
You don't need to be a writer to join. Our program is open to all and incorporates meditation, visualization, and mindfulness techniques to help you rediscover yourself.
We combine the grounding power of nature with the science of psychology to open a path to healing. This workshop is about processing life's ups and downs with expert guidance.
Meet our co-founder, Vandita Dubey. A writer and psychotherapist, she draws on her professional expertise and personal journey of moving to the Himalayas to guide participants toward finding more freedom and happiness in their lives.
About Healing Through Writing with Dr. Vandita Dubey
You do not need to be a writer to join this retreat. Dr. Vandita Dubey focuses on expressive writing as a clinical tool to untangle your thoughts and manage anxiety, not to critique your grammar or style. It is a strictly confidential, small-group environment where you decide how much you want to share with the group.
A Space for Mental Clarity
Sometimes life feels like a constant, noisy loop. If you find yourself in that 'sab theek hai' (all is well) mode while feeling overwhelmed inside, this retreat is designed for you. Located in the quiet hills of Satkhol, Uttarakhand, we provide a container for emotional release rather than literary production.
What Happens During the Retreat
Each cohort is limited to just 10 participants to ensure safety and individual attention. Over four to five days, you will engage in:
- Guided Journaling: Specific prompts to help you access subconscious thoughts.
- Mindfulness & Visualization: Techniques to ground yourself in the present.
- Safe Sharing: An optional, non-judgmental space where you choose your level of participation.
- Group Support: Connect with others in a similar headspace.
Your Facilitator
Dr. Vandita Dubey leads every session. With over 25 years of experience in clinical psychology, she transitioned from her urban practice in Gurgaon to the Himalayas to create this sanctuary. Her approach combines professional psychological guidance with the restorative power of the mountain environment.
