About Therapeutic & Expressive Writing
Step Away From the Noise
Sometimes life just piles up and you feel lost in the mess. Our place in Satkhol, Uttarakhand, gives you a break from all that - the mountains here are quiet, and so is our space. If you’re one of those ‘sab theek hai’ (all’s well) types, but actually not feeling all that great inside, this is honestly for you.
Not About Being a Writer
You don’t need fancy words, or any writing experience. I’m not going to correct your grammar or ask for your best poem. This is about healing through writing and figuring yourself out, not about getting published. All you need is a bit of honesty with yourself.
Who’s Guiding You
Dr. Vandita Dubey leads the way here. She’s lived the city life, now she’s in the hills, and she’s spent 25+ years helping people through tough stuff. Her job is to make sure you feel safe, not judged - and to gently push you to dig deeper if you want.
The Retreat Vibe
- 4 days, just 10 people max, so it feels personal and chill
- Don’t want to share your writing? Don’t worry, it’s your call
- Expect guided journaling for self-discovery, group support if you want it, and lots of quiet to think
What You Take Home
- A head that feels lighter
- Tools for anxiety management through expressive writing
- Your own roadmap for next steps
- Writing you can use anytime, just for yourself
I won’t promise miracles, but if you’re ready to get real and breathe easy for a bit, this is a good place to start.

My Story
Ever felt like your own thoughts got lost in all the noise? Us too. That’s why we set up the Himalayan Writing Retreat in Satkhol - not just a place, it’s a vibe. You wake up, see the mountains, and finally hear yourself again. We believe writing’s got magic (from you and the wild), and craft (that’s our job). We show up every day for words, not just waiting for inspiration. You bring your story, we help you get it out.
My Work
What we offer - Residential writing retreats in the Himalayas, online poetry masterclasses, First Draft Club, and healing through writing workshops.
Mountain experience - Come to Satkhol, eat Kumaoni food, trek, write, and hang out with other writers. It’s more than a workshop.
Learn from the best - Our mentors are Sahitya Akademi winners, JCB laureates, and top editors. Real experts. No fluff.
Fast drafting focus - We push you to write quick and messy. Edit later. Because a messy first draft beats no draft.
Community and support - Join our tribe, share ideas, get accountability, and Lit News for calls and jobs. We’ve got your back.
Not just for writers - Some workshops help process emotions and find clarity. Curiosity is all you need, not a writing background.
