Diverse Art Styles & Creative Projects
From detailed canvas painting to traditional folk art, here is a glimpse into the creative journey our students explore at our studios in Mumbai.

About Additional Work
Whether you are picking up a charcoal stick for the first time or refining your oil painting technique, the process is always hands-on. You won't just learn how to paint; you will learn how to see light, shadow, and texture on your own canvas, with me correcting your strokes as we go in our small, air-conditioned studio batches.
Building a creative skill isn't a linear path. Sometimes you want the structure of a Tanjore painting, and other times, you just want to get messy with oil pastels or experiment with portrait sketches. At Hema’s Hues Academy, we encourage this exploration because it helps you find the medium that truly speaks to you.
In our Prabhadevi, Powai, and Thane studios, we move beyond generic art lessons. We focus on the 'why' and 'how'. For instance, when we teach oil painting, we spend time on canvas preparation and understanding the chemistry of drying times. When we work on traditional Indian arts like Warli or Lippan, we prioritize the authentic application of materials—using real mirror work or specific pastes to ensure the art feels traditional and long-lasting.
This collection highlights the range of work that comes out of our sessions. You will see student projects that started as simple grids and sketches before becoming finished, framed artworks. Our goal is to move you from dependency on an instructor to independent creative confidence. By the time you finish your course—whether it is a 3-month fabric painting certificate or a project-based traditional masterclass—you will have a portfolio of finished pieces, not just practice sheets.
