My passion for blending nature with architecture has been recognized by leading platforms like India Design ID and Architectural Digest. I am grateful to the clients and architects who partner with me to create these spaces.

I am truly honored to receive the ID Honours for Landscape Design for the second time. A heartfelt thank you to the jury, my amazing team, and the clients and architects who trust me with their spaces.

This past year has been filled with gratitude and beautiful projects. This short video is a montage of moments from some of the gardens I've had the joy of creating, from sunlit hillsides to lush nighttime landscapes.

It was a pleasure to be featured by Architectural Digest India as one of the country's 'plant whisperers'. I am standing here in one of my gardens, surrounded by the ferns and gingers that I love to work with.

The cover of the Architectural Digest 'Constant Garden' issue that I was featured in. It's wonderful to see landscape design given such prominence, celebrating the vital role that nature plays in the spaces we inhabit.

A look at my feature inside the Architectural Digest garden issue. The article discusses my journey and my philosophy of making the inside and outside become one, a principle that guides every project I undertake.

Feeling incredibly grateful to be recognized at the India Design ID Honours. These moments are a wonderful encouragement and a chance to celebrate with the amazing design community in our country.

About Awards & Recognition

These recognitions from India Design ID and Architectural Digest are milestones, but my focus remains on the soil and the people. When you hire me, you get the same hands-on dedication to site-specific design and native planting that defined the projects the judges selected.

My practice is rooted in a simple goal: making the landscape feel like an extension of the home. When Architectural Digest featured me as a 'plant whisperer' or when the jury at India Design ID Honours recognized our work, it was not just about the visual result. It was about the process. It was about the way we use local materials like Jodhpur stone, the way we respect the existing slope of a site, and the way we collaborate with architects to create spaces that grow better with time.

I see every garden as a dialogue between the built environment and the natural world. Whether I am planning a massive estate or a compact terrace in Mumbai, I rely on the same fundamental principles. I prioritize native species that thrive in our local biome, reducing maintenance and helping the landscape flourish without excessive intervention. I listen to the site, look at the sun path, and ensure that our drainage and planting strategies are technically sound.

If you are looking for a landscape architect who values long-term growth and ecological sensitivity over short-term trends, I would love to hear from you. My team and I are here to help you bring your green vision to life.

I founded Hemali Landscape Studio in 2014 to blur the lines between inside and outside. I believe that every garden should tell a story, whether it is a compact urban terrace or a sprawling estate, and I love seeing how these spaces evolve over the years.
