At Hastam, our campus is more than just rooms. It is a child's world designed for discovery. From low, open shelves filled with purposeful materials to our indoor climbing wall, every corner here is built to let your child lead their own learning journey.

This is what I mean by a 'prepared environment'. The low, open shelves are filled with beautiful, purposeful materials, all within a child's reach. This space is intentionally designed to invite exploration and allow children to choose their own activities, fostering independence and a love for learning.

Our indoor gross motor area features a slide, a seesaw, and a mini trampoline on a soft sports floor. While the children are playing, they are also developing crucial motor skills, coordination, and spatial awareness in a safe, age appropriate setting.

I had this climbing wall custom built for little hands and feet. Climbing teaches hand, eye, and foot coordination as children must look, plan, and then move. It is a fantastic way to build physical strength, grip, and balance.

Our indoor climbing wall is a favorite spot for children to channel their energy. As this young girl navigates her path up the wall, she is developing strength, balance, and problem solving skills, all while having fun.

This beautifully crafted wooden weighing scale is one of our many sensorial materials. It gives children a concrete, hands on way to understand abstract concepts like weight, balance, and comparison.

I choose materials that are natural, beautiful, and connect children to the world around them. These wooden animal figures, including a giraffe, tiger, and rhino, are used for language development, imaginative play, and learning about zoology.

This is the welcome that nature provides at our front gate. The tree showers the ground with flowers, creating a natural carpet for the little ones arriving for their day of discovery. The name on our gate is written in both English and Kannada, reflecting our local roots.

About The Prepared Environment: Our Learning Spaces

You might notice our shelves are low and uncluttered. This is not just for aesthetics. It is the heart of the prepared environment. By placing materials at eye level, we invite children to choose their own work without waiting for instruction. When a child sees a wooden weighing scale or sandpaper letters within reach, their natural curiosity takes over. This physical autonomy is the first step toward building the confidence they need to tackle bigger challenges, both in our classroom and outside of it.
